Folding fan with painted scenes of a couple at the altar of love

Fan of white silk leaf. Recto: depicting three painted asymetrically-placed vignettes, central allegorical scene at altar, at proper right man and woman painted in grisaille, and a pavillion; leaf balance filled with flower sprays, embroidered with gilt paillettes. Verso undecorated (verso not shown in photograph.) Ivory monture perforated in plant pattern. Probably a wedding fan.
